Podcast Lisp

I think is interesting because it talks about LISP and also helps us to understand the importance of this language and how we can use it  making new things with potential such as the macros that give us the tool to have programs that create programs, which is an important application and something that I haven´t done before in general and this makes me be more interested of learning all the advantages that this language can offer us to develop other kind of things, and learning a new way on implementation. LISP has an important  characteristic and is that has a metacircular interpreter meaning that it is posible to be a language which evaluates itself, and give us a lot of opntions like the one mentioned, and other laguages don´t give us. Acording to the podcast, Dick Gabriel says that the LISP language is important and it has even been inspiration for another languages like Ruby, and other examples, that show us LISP is an important language in the development of softwa...

Beating the averages

Beating the Averages This reading was focused mainly in doing the weird things, in other words, don't go with the flow, instead try to find a different way in which the flow will work more efficiently, nowadays i'm always reading about the new startups, new ideas, new apps, etc. And it's really interesting to see how everything develops, for example i remember an app called "Yo", it was really simple you wanted to tell someone that you were thinking about them and you would send them a "yo". Honestly i wasn't amazed by the app in my perspective it was lame but even though it managed to get millions of dollars in investment and it was something curious, finally the app lost it's moment like many startups but they tried doing something that we always do, send a message to remind someone we are thinking about them and reduced the time it took to send the message, and even the message, it was an interesting idea but as the lecture mentions the sur...

The Semicolon Wars.

The Semicolon Wars This article was very interesting to me because it talks a lot about something that I have always thought, there are too many programming languages and it is really very difficult to decide which is the best for each situation, I really like the way in which this article It is written since it tells you where they come from, how they originate and for what reasons and after that it happens to speak the different perspectives that each of these languages have on the part of the engineers, personally I do not have a favorite language For the moment, I am interested in a lot of languages like python or javascript but I know that I have to complement them with a more complete language like Java or C ++, in general I think that each language fulfills a task in specific and that there are certain situations in which Some are more efficient than others, I like this reading a lot.
